Andrea went from designing a two-inch rectangular frame in her viewfinder to thousands of square feet of living space in discerning clients’ homes.
As a graduate of Tyler School of Art, Andrea has always loved working with creative tools to reveal something new and unexpected. For many years, she loved designing these surprises with her camera, traveling the world as an award-winning photojournalist for The Philadelphia Daily News.
Later, Andrea took her first upholstery class and discovered a whole new technique for bringing color and texture to life. From this seed, Wild Chairy blossomed into an award-winning design studio offering vintage furniture reimagined from a fearless, modern, and surprising point of view.
As Wild Chairy flourished, notable clients, such as actor and producer Téa Leoni, called upon Andrea to join them in collaboration to design experimental yet cohesive and comfortable designs.
It was a natural evolution for Andrea to embrace the creative challenge of designing entire living spaces. The principles and instincts that guided Andrea early in her career remain the same today.
Whether choosing what to frame in her viewfinder or composing an entire room, Andrea still works with color, composition, balance, shape, and light to create meaning.
A room is the same as a photograph, but framed from every angle.
